On Thursday, March 6th, 2025, the United Way of Eastern Idaho is holding a one-day fundraising event designed to combat food insecurity among our local elementary students through the transformative "Power of $10" event!

Right now, children in our community are going to bed hungry, struggling to focus in school, and missing out on vital learning opportunities. Together, we can change that. In Eastern Idaho, a staggering 45% of families are classified as ALICE families (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed). These families face relentless challenges as they juggle basic needs like housing, healthcare, childcare, and transportation. The pressure can lead them to make heart-wrenching choices—whether to pay for childcare or rent, or deciding between nutritious food and other essentials.

That's where the Ready. Set. GO! Weekend Food Bag program comes in, a lifeline provided by the United Way of Eastern Idaho. Each week, dedicated school counselors discreetly prepare and send home over 200 food bags filled with child-friendly meals to support students over the weekend when school meals are not available. This vital support helps children refuel for a brighter future.
